Tournaments next year

Postby mattimus5460 » Mon Jul 28, 2008 9:41 am

Hey I was wondering since the vesl is a lot bigger than when you started if there would maybe be some team based tournaments this year? Mainly for CS:S, like a 3v3 double elimination or even a season/ladder type thing where teams can challenge each other.

I would be happy to help run it/program a simple module to keep track etc. Anything that I could do to help just lmk.

Hey, if you would be interested in creating a ladder module, that would be great!

If you didn't catch the latest update, you should find some great competition with GameWager for solo play, aside from the sweet prizes. :)

With regards to teams, from my experience, it has always been teams of 5. If there is a large amount of interest for 3v3 tournaments, I would be more than happy to host them. Same goes for anything. If there is enough of a following and demand for a title, we are more than open to suggestions. :)

Mind shooting me an email about the ladder stuff? The link is in my profile.

Generate enough interest and I'd love to see this happen - I can throw together some prize packages (free game server or two) if there's enough draw :)

ok sounds great ill get on it...

the only reason i say 3v3 is because it is more likely a school can find 3 ppl and not all can find 5. so a school could possibly enter 2 teams if they have five they can just get a sixth etc... it just leaves it open to more options but all that can be decided at a later date.

p.s. Evan i got a new steam id, if you want to talk on that its leonidasreturns

That is a good idea, and that may also help with scheduling, in case of class conflicts between 5 person teams for a while. I'll definitely be taking that into consideration. I think we will try some more 1-man games too, just to keep it fair. I find 3v3 can get boring sometimes, as the matches go longer without people seeing each other.

P.S. I added you on steam. You should fill out the rest of your forum profile, so others can add you as well. :)

I would love a CSS tournament! I would also love to see a TF2 tournament some day. I think we would need more interest than with CSS because of the type of gameplay and different teamwork aspect of the game.
