Q & A about event

Postby Yoz0 » Mon Sep 29, 2008 4:43 pm

- Is there a required difficulty for rock band?
No (not as of now)

- is it possible to play in EVERY (including boxing and GH) tournament?
I'm going to be hopeful and say Yes, but if you can't then don't be disappointed and prioritize your tournaments, Wii sports and GH are side tournaments so it's basically if you have free time you go and play and record your score and the winner is announced at the end of the day.

-3. what are the prizes?
Prizes are not yet confirmed because we don't have a lot of the things that are being sent in yet, but we have tons of shirts, hats, lanyards, mouse pads, memberships, but most importantly and sought after are the main prizes of medals for the top prizes that have FFC and the game engraved on them, something to brag about =)

- 4. what exactly does a volunteer have to do?
I'm looking for about 20-25 volunteers that are going to help out with the event, things range from registration, refereeing games, clean up, set up, and so much more. Volunteers have to be 100% dedicated and can't be in too many games.

- 5. what are the tournament settings for boxing and GH?
Well, these will be kind of for fun, so I think what i'm going to do is 'take the challenge', where I pick a certain song the day of or the Hour of and record scores on the board, and highest wins, because it's a challenge i tell you what song.
The Wii sports thing is a bit more challenging, maybe find the best boxer and go up against him etc
GHero will be competitive though and challenging, Wii sports is more likely for fun.

-6. since it's 20 bucks for 3-4 games, does this mean we can pick 4 of the 6 games?
You can play EVERYTHING with 20 bucks, and the GHero and Wii sports are with any entrance fee since the prizes are low key.

-7. for dota, are we using vent and headphones? or are we just talking aloud amongst each other in front of the other team?
I think headphones are okay but i don't know about vent, I think it'll be too loud anyways, so typing/talking with people beside you would be the best case

-8. in brawl, are we banning the infinites and laser locks etc?
... LOL, ask in the Brawl forums

- 9. what are the backdoor rules for dota?
Like, TDA ish, basically you can backdoor towers NOT in the base, and no sending in a chicken/bear and teleporting to it.

- 10. in brawl, are we told who we are playing before we choose our character or do we blindly choose and then see who we're playing?
Check the brawl rules and or ask in the brawl forums

- 11. is it 4v4 halo and FFA or is it 2v2 halo and FFA?
4v4 and FFA =)

- First of all, since I am a volunteer, am I allowed to participate in game brackets because Im on 2 teams so far.
Yes, I will be posting up information on start/end times of all the games, but I definitely would have to put the heavy gamer volunteers into doing things before the event or after to keep their time open

- Second, How do I sign up teams? Because I want to make sure we're all eligible to play in the tournament when it comes time.
Teams are registered during the event, so when you get there and register you need to be WITH your team for OUR convenience

- Third, is there any fees me/or my team have to pay?
the fees are $10 for spectators, $15 for 1-2 games, and $20 for 3-4 games
Volunteers also must pay the minimum $10, because of food and such.

-And last, how do I figure out what I'll be doing at a volunteer and at what times?
The volunteer group will have the tasks up soon, we'll have different shifts available as well

Any more questions =)?

Are we allowed to bring our own headsets, mice, and pads, by any chance?

Headsets can be pretty important in Counter-Strike.

Hello to Evan, who spotted my headset today and handed me his pro looking business card.
